Site Name: Ainsdale Sand Dunes National Nature Reserve

Summary Site Description : One of the largest areas of dunes on the Sefton Coast and probably the most valuable site for nature conservation together with Ainsdale Sandhills Local Nature Reserve. The site contains some of the best examples of fixed dune and slack habitat types Part of the dune area has been modified through the planting of conifers around 100 years ago. This site provides some of the best examples of the techniques of sand dune management for nature conservation in the UK.
